S31: 64 GT/s PCIe Gen 3 Over Fiber Optic Expansion System

The S31 Gen3 64GT/s PCIe Expansion System allows operation of 4 PCIe x1, x4, x8, or x16 Gen1/Gen2/Gen3 add-in cards over fiber optic cable at distances up to 500 meters from the host computer system. No additional programming and drivers are required. Any PCI Express cards can be used, including audio, video, graphics, USB, FireWire, SATA, data-acquisition, and network cards.

Features

  • Backplane with 4 PCIe Gen 3 x16 slots supporting the following configurations:
    • slot 1: 1 port x4, 1 port x8, 2 ports x4
    • slot 2: 1 port x4, disabled when slot 1 uses 8 lanes
    • slot 3: 1 port x8, 1 port x16, 2 ports x4, 2 ports x8, 4 ports x4
    • slot 4: 1 port x8, 2 ports x4, disabled when slot 3 uses 16 lanes
  • Slots support bifurcation and hot-plug
  • 32 or 64 GT/s data rate over fiber optic using 4 or 8 PCIe Gen 3 lanes
  • Optical isolation
  • Standard pluggable QSFP+ transceivers, AOCs and DACs
  • Digital monitor and diagnostics via Ethernet port
  • Backplane can be mounted in any standard ATX or microATX case
  • Configurable fan profiles
  • Operating temperature: -40° to +85° C

Cable type and length
