H18A: PCIe Gen3 x8 Adapter

The H18A is a PCIe Gen3 adapter intended to extend a computer’s PCIe bus over one or two QSFP+ fiber-optic cables. The adapter is based on a PCIe switch operating in transparent mode. No additional programming or drivers are required. The same board can be configured as a host or target adapter with a DIP switch.

  • The cable interface supports the following configurations:
    • 1 port x8: 64 Gb/s
    • 2 ports x4: 32 Gb/s per port
    • 4 ports x2: 16 Gb/s per port
  • PCIe Gen3, Gen2, or Gen1 data rates
  • Optical isolation with fiber-optic cables
  • Supports standard pluggable QSFP+ transceivers and active optical cables (AOC)
  • Digital monitoring and diagnostics via the Adnacom Monitor utility, API, or Ethernet web interface
  • Transparent operation – no drivers required
  • Operating temperature: -40 °C to +85 °C (QSFP+ modules and cables must be rated for the same range)

Compatible Remote Adapters

  • R34: PCIe Gen3 backplane with 4 PCIe slots (S31 and AES131 systems)
  • USB324: USB 3.2 Gen 2 remote adapter with 4 USB ports (AUS324 system)
  • H18A: PCIe Gen3 adapter in target mode (S18 system)
  • H14: PCIe Gen3 adapter in target mode (S14 system)
